Today, on June 4, 2026, an unprecedented agreement was signed in Italy by representatives from Sardinia, Okinawa, Nicoya, and Ikaria.
During an international meeting held in Sardinia, Italy, representatives of the world’s four regions renowned for their exceptional longevity signed the Letter of Intent launching the global initiative “The Longevity Experience: Connecting Sardinia, Okinawa, Nicoya, and Ikaria.”
With this signature, Ikaria formally confirms its participation in an international alliance that brings together the four regions with the highest rates of healthy longevity in the world: Sardinia (Italy), Okinawa (Japan), Ikaria (Greece), and the Nicoya Peninsula (Costa Rica).
The project is founded on the belief that the secrets to a long and fulfilling life are not found in laboratories, but in ancestral traditions, traditional diets, strong community bonds, and respect for the environment. Longevity is not simply about living longer; it is about enriching those years with dignity, purpose, and happiness.
